Villa Fuerteventura

The villa sits at the edge of El Cotillo, where the village gives way to sand and low scrub. The lagoons lie a short walk away, with pale turquoise water behind a line of reefs, and the ocean beyond. The house is single-storey and white, with a walled garden that keeps the wind off, and a pool set into a terrace of pale stone.

Inside, the rooms are plain and bright, with white walls, grey floors and windows on two sides. The living room opens to the terrace through wide glass doors, and the kitchen runs along one wall with a table for six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms are at the back of the plan. The house is built for the light and the wind, and stays comfortable through the day.
