Le Fayard Penthouse

Le Fayard Penthouse sits at the top of a chalet on the edge of the Le Rouge piste, one of the few places in Verbier where the skiing begins at the door. A private flight of stairs leads up to a warm entrance with heated boot warmers and space for jackets, hats and gloves; from there the apartment opens out across its two floors.

The living room is calm and light, with library shelves, a stone open fireplace, generous sofas and full-length French windows that open onto a south-facing balcony above the valley. Local art hangs on the walls, and a wall-mounted television and surround sound are there for slower evenings. The dining room holds a dark wood table for eight beneath high vaulted ceilings, with a second stone fireplace, and opens onto a white kitchen with dark wood worktops and a breakfast bar. There is a small television room under the eaves on the top floor, and a study beside the master bedroom.

Three bedrooms each have their own bath or shower room: a master with zip-and-link beds, a dressing room and a wooden barrel bath with a separate hammam shower, plus two double or twin rooms. A guest WC and a laundry room complete the apartment. Two parking spaces come with it, one covered, and the bus stop a two-minute walk away runs a free service to the Médran lift and Savoleyres. Access in winter needs a 4x4 and chains in some conditions. The apartment is let seasonally or annually; daily cleaning, a driving service and in-chalet catering can be arranged at extra cost.
