Casa Volcán

The house is a simple white volume set on black volcanic ground, behind a low wall of dark stone. A single fig tree stands in the garden, and the horizon is the Atlantic, flat and blue. The light is strong through the day and soft in the evening, and the house stays cool behind its thick walls.

Inside, a built-in bench runs along one wall of the living room, with linen cushions and a dark volcanic-stone accent wall. The kitchen is open to the room and looks out through a narrow window. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms sit at the back, and the terrace is sheltered from the wind.
