Casa Gran Canaria

The house is in a small village in the interior of Gran Canaria, where the road climbs between terraced fields and almond trees. The streets are narrow and stone-paved, and the house stands behind a low wall with a fig tree in the yard. The peaks of the island rise behind the village, and the coast is a half-hour drive down the valley. The air is cooler here than on the coast.

Inside, the rooms are simple and cool, with whitewashed walls, dark beams and floors of stone. The living room has a bench along one wall, a small fireplace and a table by the window. The kitchen is old-fashioned but well kept, with a door to the yard. Two bedrooms and one bathroom are on the upper floor, and the roof terrace looks over the village and the terraces below.
